Pardew Disappointed With Result

Post  Toon Stig on Thu Dec 22, 2011 9:25 pm

By Toon Stig

Alan Pardew believes losing matches can really unsettle players and that his side played better in the second half despite the defeat to WBA.

Demba Ba had to pick up the pieces twice to equalise but was left with very little time to get a 3rd.

The Newcastle Manager recently challenged his players to regain their winning ways but he now feels the desperate need for a win, cost them the match.
He said,
"It's an upsetting
game for us to lose
because we are at home.
The first half I didn't think
we played anywhere near
to our ability.

"Second half we did, and
when we got the second
goal it set us up for a
grandstand finish. But then
to get done on the
counter attack - maybe we
were a little bit too
desperate.

"We need to get that win
under our belt otherwise
we are going to put
ourselves under pressure.
The longer you go without
a win the more unsettling
it can be for the group."
