Cabaye Nets Late Winner For Toon

Newcastle have beaten Wigan 1-0 after a very tightly fought match between the two sides, with Frenchman Yohan Cabaye netting his first goal for the club and the winner in the 81st minute, which keeps Newcastle in 4th in the PL and unbeaten in 9 PL games.

Wigan were playing better than Newcastle in the first half with Victor Moses' powerful effort causing Tim Krul to pull off a brilliant save. Leon Best tried to put the Magpies ahead on the 30 minute mark but Ali Al-Habsi pulled off a remarkable save denying the Irishman.

Demba Ba came close to scoring for Newcastle in the 2nd half with the Wigan Keeper saving it right on the line.

Yohan Cabaye scored an outstanding goal from the edge of the box to give the home side victory.

Alan Pardew after the game admitted he was frustrated with how the match was going and that the PL is full of suprises and shouldn't under estimate any team.
